Tim & Roisin | 8.30.10

Recently, I had the privilege of sideshooting Tim & Roisin's wedding along side Lexington photographer Marissa Noe.  The wedding couldn't have taken place on a more beautiful day!  The girls all spent the afternoon getting ready at a salon before heading off to the church.

Roisin's dress was stunning.  Not everyone can pull off a cathedral-style veil, but it fit Roisin so beautifully.

Roisin was never without a smile!

The reception was held at Equestrian Woods - the perfect location for a Lexington, Kentucky wedding reception, don't you think?

brody | 1 yr. | 8.19.20

We have loved every minute of the opportunity to be part of Brody's first year.  It's hard to believe that he's grown from this snuggly little newborn...

...to a handsome, one-year-old, who is so close to walking on his own!

Did I mention that this one-year-old has strikingly blue eyes?

Mom does her absolute best to help direct our littlest clients attention to the camera.  Usually, she just bribes them with bubbles or claps and makes funny faces.  This time, however, she had to get a little more "hands on."  :)

As you can tell by the bottom shot... Brody was done with sitting still, and big brother Clayton couldn't figure out WHAT in the world was going on behind the camera - with four people all trying to get Brody's attention.  :)

During the entire photoshoot, Clayton was telling us all about the "wolf tracks" he saw down the trail.  Although we didn't see any, I'm sure there was at least one wolf there.  Maybe an invisible wolf... but a wolf nonetheless.  :)

I couldn't resist throwing this one in.  Isn't it hilarious?  Brody is such a happy little fella.

kelly | 2011 SENIOR! | 8.17.10

It is always an honor when someone chooses to return to us for another round of pictures.  This is Kelly, our second senior from the same family!  (Kay took Kelly's older sister Amanda's senior pictures a few years ago.)

Since Kelly was up for an early morning session - we hit our favorite field first - and the haze coming over the hills in the background was gorgeous.

It isn't always easy to choose what to wear for pictures.  However, Kelly nailed it!  Her choices coordinated beautifully with the locations we wanted to shoot.

These next three are my absolute favorites!  The lighting was perfect - and those shoes are great!  (However, I'll just have to stick to my TOMS and flip-flops... because I would break both ankles in heels like that!)

Kelly's dad pointed out this last spot.  I think he's got a good eye, don't you?  :)

We wish you all the best in your senior year, Kelly!

sydney | 8.15.10

It's always fun to find out how people make the connection with us - whether it's by word of mouth, or on the internet, or any other way.  This time we were surprised - because it turns out that Sydney is the cousin of our friend Larkyn.  I've said it before and I'll say it again, it is a SMALL WORLD!

When I was talking with Sydney's mom before the photoshoot, she told me that Sydney loves to play outside... but that she likes to dress up, and then go play outside.  :)

Sydney is a spitfire, that's for sure.  :)  As soon as I mentioned the idea of climbing up into this tree, she took off running, determined to climb it herself.  We gave her a boost up, and although she was more than enthusiastic about the idea of jumping out of it on her own, we insisted on helping her down.

I thought Sydney was excited about climbing the tree.  I saw "excited" when we had her hop up on the hay bales.  Of course, she felt it necessary to walk down the row and back before dismounting.  :)

What do you think?  Future Olympic gymnast?  Quite possibly!  :)

FALL SESSIONS! | 8.13.10

It's that time of year again.  School is back in session, the temperature will start to cool off soon (hopefully), the leaves will start to change colors... and before you know it, the Christmas season will be here.  With our school schedules, we are limited to the number of photoshoots we can plan for.  So...

If you are interested in any type of
photo session during the months of
September, October, or November,
NOW is the time to schedule your appointment.
[Our cutoff date for 2010 photo sessions is November 20th.]

And as you schedule your session... plan ahead!  Purchase a wall collection to show off your images, just in time for the company that comes along with the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons!

a sweet family | 8.13.10

You can't get much better than a family who is willing to traipse through a creek, all for the sake of pictures, which is why we were thrilled with the opportunity to meet the Sweet family!

I found out that Mr. Tim & Mrs. Jenny both graduated from Cumberland College - now the University of the Cumberlands - the school that I attend!  (I'm headed there in a week and a half!)

there will your heart be also."

but with a few nuts."

Trevor and Savannah were more interested in what little creatures were in the creek than smiling for the camera, but who can blame them?  It was a warm day and the water was cool - perfect for playing.

We had such a fun evening with this family... even though there were a few snide remarks concerning my TENNESSEE VOLUNTEER apparel.  But, after living in the land of the infamous Kentucky Wildcats for the past three years - I've learned I just have to be the bigger person and put those comments behind me.  :)

These are some of my favorites.  It's so nice to see a big brother lovin' on his little sister!   :)

I laugh because there's nothing you can do about it!"
