Philip and Maricela have known each other for a long time - since childhood.

Then, early this year (decked out in camo from head to toe, right in the middle of a duck hunt!), Philip knelt down on one knee and asked Maricela to be his wife.  Her answer was a most definite "YES!"

About thirty seconds after meeting triplets Pearce, Addison, and Kinzley, & big bro Brycen, we knew the following things: (1) their ages, (2) the options for the next birthday party theme, (3) the fact that MineCraft is the best game EVER, (4) and that dancing is a daily necessity at their house.  And to know that much about someone, well - it basically ensures friendship in my book.  :)

Maggie & Rick - thanks for bringing your family to hang out with us!  We had a blast!

The couch Maggie rented from Pursuing Eden was wonderful for their session!  However, we soon realized that ...

... EVERYONE needed to sit on the couch!  :)

  

To Brycen & the triplets - thanks for helping us make sure no one was standing in an ant bed or kneeling on a cactus - y'all are the best!  ;)

Pittsburg, Texas | Robertson Family | 4.21.15

A photo session with the Robertson family was on the calendar long before Boone actually made his arrival.  So when he turned 2 weeks old, and was ready for his photography debut, Kay & I were excited to meet the little fella everyone had been waiting for!

Based on the left image below, I thought Boone was starting to get a bit sleepy... the image on the right shows you that actually... he spent his session very much awake.  :)

Longview, Texas | Evan & Sarah (2 of 2) | 4.14.15

The spring carnival and Evan & Sarah's visit just happened to take place on the same weekend. This worked out really well, as apparently, Sarah has a deep affinity for cotton candy.  :)  

Evan & Sarah, it'll be wonderful to be back in the Bluegrass for your wedding - but we're sure glad you'll be coming back to Texas!  :)

Longview, Texas | Evan & Sarah (1 of 2) | 4.11.15

Evan & Sarah lived in the same state, on the same side, but had never met.  That is, until both of them flew from Kentucky to Texas for a campus tour of Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth.  Sarah was accompanied by her family.  Evan was accompanied by mine.  (I'm still not convinced that my folks didn't substitute Evan for me during my years away at college.)  

Fast forward, and now they're attending Southwestern together, and are getting married in August!  :)

This a a definite favorite of ours!  

Rain has plagued us this spring.  For months, every time we'd schedule a session, it'd POUR.  So when Evan and Sarah were first supposed to come down to Longview for the weekend, we'd have had to photograph them wearing full body waders.  Thankfully, we found another weekend for them to come - one that wasn't sopping wet.  :)
